I'm usually a morning person. I love my quiet time, when I take a few minutes to put my thoughts together and go over my to-do list while sipping on freshly brewed coffee.
It's my thing. Sometimes, depending on how early I wake up I may quickly whip up some muffins or oatmeal cookies, but usually I leave the baking for lazy weekend mornings.
One morning I woke up craving cinnamon rolls like it was the end of the world. Cinnamon rolls from scratch takes a little bit of time to make and I had no refrigerated cinnamon rolls on hand. Not even crescent rounds to sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon to fix my cravings.
The only thing I had was a can of pizza dough. It turned out to be the best thing I had in the fridge.
Pillsbury refrigerated pizza crust is so easy to work with I decided to make a pull-apart bread instead of simply cinnamon rolls.
The recipe is not an exact science. You could use a little more or less sugar, cinnamon or baking chips. Or you could go for some nuts or dried fruit. The possibilities are endless. And you know what else? This pull-apart is so easy to make.
I've seen other pull-apart bread recipes where you have to cut the dough in strips, stack it and make little accordions, but not this time. Just roll, cut and bake. Eat as soon as you get it out of the oven. Really, there's no point in waiting. Warm bread is the best thing ever!
Remove the dough from the can and unroll it, pulling with your fingers to form a rectangle. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon and cinnamon chips all over the crust.
