Skillet Pizza Monkey Bread How-To

Turn pizza night on its head with this skillet version of the always-popular monkey bread.

My family absolutely loves pizza night. It’s a weekly tradition for us every Saturday. Sometimes we go out, but more often than not, we stay at home, make from-scratch pizza and play board games or watch movies. Since we eat pizza every week, I’m always looking for fun, new exciting ways to serve up our favorite dinner.

This past week, I decided to combine two of my family’s favorite treats—monkey bread and pizza. I just quartered biscuits, combined them with my family’s favorite pizza toppings and placed it all in a skillet. It couldn’t be easier, and the results were ooey-gooey pizza goodness. My whole family absolutely loved it!

To get this skillet monkey bread started, cut each biscuit into fourths and place in a large bowl.

Then add 1 cup of pizza sauce and 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni.

Stir in some fresh torn basil leaves. (This is one of my personal favorite pizza toppings.) If you like, you can add more pizza toppings, such as green peppers, onions, olives or mushrooms.

Then put 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese into the bowl. You can add a little grated Parmesan, too.

Mix it well. (I used my hands.)

Place the pizza mixture in a lightly greased skillet. Be sure to tuck in any of the exposed basil leaves so they don’t burn.

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with fresh salad and enjoy!
