I come from a family that is very into traditions. It doesn’t seem to matter what the holiday is, we have traditions for everything. And everyone wants to stick to them—particularly my 9 year old. If we had something one year, we better have it the next because it’s now considered a tradition. Now that I’ve made these Easter egg nests, I am pretty sure my son will be requesting them every year from now on.
These No-Bake Cheerios Easter Egg Nests are very easy to make. Just a few ingredients including Cheerios and Gushers Fruit Snacks, and you have a fun and festive holiday treat.
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt together 1 cup peanut butter with 1 2/3 cups butterscotch chips until smooth.
Pour the 6 cups Cheerios into the butterscotch mixture, and stir until everything is evenly coated.
To assemble the nests, the trick is to use muffin tins. Just make sure they are coated well with non-stick spray. Scoop about 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture into each muffin cup, and then use the back of a spoon or a small cookie scoop to make indentations for the “nest.”
Once the nests are completely set up, remove from the muffin tins, and place 2 or 3 Gushers in each nest for the eggs.
