Caramel Apple Cookie Pizza How-To

This classic combo gets a new spin when used as a topping for a sugar cookie pizza.

I look forward to apple season every year. I love it when they are not only inexpensive because they are in season, but when they come straight from the trees and are so juicy and full of flavor. We buy them by the box and eat them with everything, so we go through a lot of apples!

I especially love baking with apples. Nothing says fall like an apple dessert. Give them to me in a pie or a crisp, and I’m a happy girl. One of my favorite things to do is to drizzle caramel over warm apple crisp, one of the most comforting fall desserts.

Since I love the combination of caramel and apples so much, I’m always looking for more ways to combine them. And a dessert that looks pretty is always a plus as well. This cookie pizza combines all of my favorite flavors of fall in a gorgeous dessert. You won’t believe how easy it is!

This dessert pizza starts off with a cookie crust made easy by using Pillsbury® sugar cookie dough. A simple cream cheese filling tops the cookie, followed by sliced apples. And then my favorite part–you drizzle the whole thing with caramel and toffee pieces. If you are a caramel apple lover, you will love this Caramel Apple Cookie Pizza!

You will need Pillsbury® sugar cookie dough, cream cheese, powdered sugar, brown sugar, apples, caramel ice cream topping and toffee pieces.

First, cut or break the cookie dough into pieces and place them on a 12-inch pizza pan. Use your hands to evenly press the dough on the pan.

Bake until golden brown, and then allow it to cool completely.

In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and brown sugar. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the sugar cookie crust.
Core the apples and slice them thinly. Place the apples on the pizza in a circular shape.

Drizzle with the caramel topping, and sprinkle with toffee pieces.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.
