Expert Tips

Either jarred Alfredo sauce or sauce prepared from a dry mix can be used. Whichever sauce you choose, measure 1 1/4 cups.

Look for jars of roasted red bell peppers near the pickles and olives.

great recipe...like the switch of the old favorite. My family loved it,I did add some yellow beans for some color variation! Was so easy and love the mix and forget nature of this recipe. Def will be serving at Thanksgiving this year. My sister said she used package alfredo sauce mix and worked great for her too.

This is soooo much better than the traditional green bean casserole. I will always use this recipe from now on. I made no changes in it.

I think its my own fault this was only two stars. I added a little raw chopped onion, and the onion was still crunchy and too onion-y after cooking.

My family enjoyed this for Thanksgiving - a new twist on an old favorite. I did make a couple of adjustments to it. I added 1/3cup of heavy whipping cream just about an hour before serving, this gave it a smoother texture.

I made it two weeks ago for a group camping trip. Everyone loved it. It tasted like the oven version! It was so easy to open the ingredients, dump them into my 4 qt. slow cooker and wait for 4 hours. When everyone was done eating I had one tablespoon left. Sure hit and it was requested again. Thanks.
