Directions

  • 1 Heat gas or charcoal grill. In 1-quart saucepan, heat pizza sauce and hot dogs over medium heat until hot; keep warm.
  • 2 Meanwhile, cut 18x12-inch sheet of heavy-duty foil; place on large cookie sheet. Spray foil with cooking spray. Unroll dough onto sprayed foil. Starting at center, press out dough into 13x9-inch rectangle. Spray dough with cooking spray.
  • 3 Invert dough rectangle directly onto grill rack; peel off foil and return foil to cookie sheet, sprayed side up. Cook uncovered on gas grill over medium-low heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-low coals 2 to 4 minutes or until bottom is golden brown. (Watch carefully to prevent burning.) With wide metal pancake turner, turn crust over. Cook 1 to 2 minutes longer or until bottom is set but not brown. Carefully remove from grill; place browned side up on foil. Close grill.
  • 4 Spoon hot pizza sauce mixture over crust; sprinkle with cheese. Slide pizza from foil onto grill. Cover grill; cook 3 to 6 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.

EXPERT TIPS

toggle

Expert Tips

Have all toppings ready to go because the crust cooks quickly. If the crust is cooking too fast, move the pizza to a cooler part of the grill or reduce the heat.

Don’t want to grill pizza? It can be baked following the directions on the pizza crust can.

I tried the pizza tonite for supper, and it was great!! I also added onions, and green pepper to my side of the pizza, since my husband is not a big pepper fan. It's just a fun little pizza recipe for something different!!

At first I didn't know if I wanted hot dogs on a pizza but thought it was interesting and would give it a try. We love this pizza. My son usually doesn't like eating left over pizza but he didn't have any problems eating the left overs from this pizza. I will be making this pizza again. Next time I might try adding some extra toppings like onion to change it up.

Am I overlooking it? Where in this recipe does it say how many servings there are? I see in the Nutrition how many carbs etc. per 1 serving but I don't see how many slices you cut this pizza into.
