Recipe Ingredients

These Christmas Sprinkle Cookies come together with just 3 simple ingredients—here’s what you’ll need.

Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough: Refrigerated sugar cookie dough makes this recipe super easy. It delivers a deliciously chewy cookie with consistent results every time—convenient and simple to prepare.

Flour: Flour helps the dough hold its shape when sliced and baked. It also firms the dough, so it’s easier to roll in sprinkles without losing shape.

Note: While Pillsbury™ Cookie Dough is safe to enjoy raw on its own, once flour is added, wait until the cookies are fully baked before tasting—for food safety.

Round Decorating Decors: These colorful round sprinkles—also called nonpareils—add a festive look and a crunchy texture to the cookie edges.

How to Make Christmas Sprinkle Cookies

Here's a brief overview of the steps involved. Then, check out the detailed instructions below before you dive in.

1. Mix and Shape the Cookie Dough

Stir flour into the crumbled sugar cookie dough—or make quick work of it by kneading with your hands—until fully combined. Use a kitchen ruler to check the length as you shape the dough into logs. Since the dough now contains raw flour, toss any leftover sprinkles for food safety reasons.

2. Slice the Cookie Dough Logs

Chilling the dough until firm helps make cleaner slices that keep their shape. Even when chilled, you may need to reshape the slices to keep the cookies nice and round.

3. Bake and Cool

Bake until the edges are set and the tops are lightly golden. Let the cookies rest on the cookie sheet for a few minutes to finish baking and set the bottoms.

How to Store Christmas Sprinkle Cookies

Here’s how to store your Christmas Sprinkle Cookies so they stay fresh and delicious.

Instructions

  • Step
    1

In medium bowl, crumble cookie dough; stir or knead in flour until well mixed. (DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH AFTER COMBINING WITH FLOUR.) Divide dough in half; shape each half into 10-inch log. Pour decorating decors onto a small baking sheet with sides. Roll dough log in decorating decors, pressing into dough. Wrap dough log tightly with plastic wrap. Repeat forming, shaping and rolling with remaining dough. Refrigerate about 1 hour 30 minutes or until firm. Discard any remaining decorating decors after rolling dough logs.

  • Step
    2

Heat oven to 350°F. Unwrap 1 of the dough logs; cut into 20 (1/2-inch) slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet, reshaping if necessary.

  • Step
    3

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Unwrap remaining dough log; repeat slicing and baking. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Store covered in airtight container.
