Enjoy these great apple flavored drop cookies – popped out of the oven and ready to eat in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

cup packed brown sugar
1/2
cup butter or margarine, softened
1
egg
1 1/2
cups all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2
teaspoon salt
1/2
teaspoon baking soda

medium apple, chopped (1 cup)

Steps

  • 1 Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease cookie sheet with shortening.
  • 2 In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter and egg with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. On low speed, beat in flour, nutmeg, salt and baking soda. Stir in apple. Onto cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart.
  • 3 Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Store cooled cookies loosely covered.
