When we need a kid-friendly dinner, quick chicken tenders are often at the top of our list. But instead of hopping in the drive-thru line, we like to make them ourselves. That way we know exactly what’s in them, and exactly what isn’t (see ya later, mystery meat!).
Making your own crunchy breaded chicken tenders at home isn’t as hard as it sounds, especially when you’ve got The Good Table, our genius secret weapon for the best oven-fried chicken. Each pack comes with a tasty sauce—to keep meat juicy and flavorful—and a separate crumb coating to get that craveable chicken tender crunch. The Good Table works great for full chicken breasts, and even fish filets, and you can DIY some delicious chicken fingers just the same.
What You'll Need
These homemade chicken tenders have a short ingredient list: All you’ll need is a one-pound package of boneless, skinless chicken tenders and your favorite flavor of The Good Table. We used Southwest Tortilla Chicken because we love the kick in the tomato sauce. (Crunchy Thai Peanut is another bold option, while Parmesan & Herb and Lemon & Herb are easy crowd-pleasers.)
Step 1: Heat the oven to 400°F. Pour the sauce and breading mixture into two separate bowls and line a baking sheet with foil (place an oven-safe baking rack on top of your baking sheet for extra-crispy tenders).
Step 2: Coat one chicken tender with the sauce then transfer to the breading mixture, tossing to coat. Repeat with the remaining chicken tenders. (Pro tip: Keep the sauce and breading bowls close to each other—and to the baking sheet—to make cleanup a breeze.)
