Impress your game day guests, thrill your family, or satiate your cravings with this popular taco-inspired recipe!

Recipe Ingredients

This delicious, crowd-pleasing dish comes together with a few simple ingredients.

Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: Crescent rolls make this recipe possible! Not only are they flaky, flavorful, and familiar, they’re also easy to work with. This makes the cooking process go smoothly every time.

Ground Beef: Ground beef acts as a delicious filling for this crescent ring. With proper seasoning and care, the filling comes together quickly with your favorite kind of ground beef.

Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning Mix: We love Old El Paso™ taco seasoning, because it has the perfect amount of flavor without unwanted heat. It makes your filling delicious with little to no effort!

Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Cheddar cheese helps bind your ground beef mixture together while adding overall cheesy flavor to the dish. Use other toppings to your taste! We recommend adding shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced ripe olives, and taco sauce or salsa.

How to Make Taco Crescent Ring

This recipe is pretty eye-catching, but it’s also easy to make!

1. Cook and Drain the Ground Beef

Cook the ground beef in a nonstick skillet and drain well.

2. Make the Taco Filling

Put the ground beef into a heatproof bowl and stir in the cheese. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before using to help the ring keep its shape later.

3. Build Your Ring

Lay out the crescent rolls on a large baking sheet in the shape of a sun. Leave a 5-inch circle open in the middle and overlap your dough pieces to create your ring. We like to line the baking sheet with a sheet of parchment paper before laying out the dough for easy transfer to a cutting board or serving platter later.

4. Spoon on the Beef

Spoon the taco beef mixture onto the crescent dough. Create a mound of filling that forms a ring on half of the crescent roll dough triangles.

5. Cover and Tuck

Work with one piece of dough at a time to bring the point up and over the filling, and tuck it in under the bottom layer of dough in the center of the ring. Some of the filling will show.

6. Bake, Cool, and Serve

Bake the crescent ring until it is golden brown and thoroughly baked in the thickest parts. Let the ring sit on the baking sheet on a cooling rack for 5 to 10 minutes so that it can be moved without breaking. Serve warm.

How to Store (and Reheat) Taco Crescent Ring

Leftover Taco Crescent Ring makes a great lunch the next day. Here’s how to keep everything fresh and delicious.

Refrigerator Storage

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Be sure to store leftovers within 2 hours of finishing preparation.

Freezer Storage

Freezer storage may compromise the crescent texture; we do not recommend freezing leftovers for this reason.

Reheating

  • Microwave: Microwave your leftovers on High for 1 to 2 mins, adding 15 to 30 second intervals if needed, or until warmed through (165°F).
  • Toaster Oven: Cover leftovers in aluminum foil and put in the toaster oven at 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes or until 165°F.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Step
    1

Heat oven to 375°F. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef until no longer pink. Drain beef; return to skillet. Add taco seasoning mix and 1/2 cup water. Simmer 3 to 4 minutes or until slightly thickened. In medium heatproof bowl, mix beef mixture and cheese. Let cool while preparing the crescent ring.

  • Step
    2

Unroll both cans of dough; separate into 16 triangles. On ungreased large baking sheet, arrange triangles in ring so short sides of triangles form a 5-inch circle in center. Dough will overlap; dough ring should look like the sun.

  • Step
    3

Spoon beef mixture on the half of each triangle closest to center of ring.

  • Step
    4

Bring each dough triangle up over filling, tucking dough under bottom layer of dough to secure it. Repeat around ring until entire filling is enclosed (some filling might show a little).

  • Step
    5
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until dough is golden brown and thoroughly baked. Cool 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into serving slices.
