Ingredients

3
cans (10 ct each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
2/3
cup cream cheese spread (from 8-oz container)
15
medium or large strawberries, chopped
3
tablespoons sugar
1
egg
1
tablespoon water
1
cup chocolate-flavor syrup, warmed

Steps

  • 1 Heat oven to 425°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 2 Separate each can of dough into 10 biscuits; flatten each biscuit into thin round. Spread 1 teaspoon cream cheese on center of each round; top evenly with strawberries. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of the sugar. Fold edges up and over filling; pinch to seal. Place biscuits, seam sides down, in baking dish.
  • 3 In small bowl, beat egg and water. Lightly brush tops of biscuits with egg mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar.
  • 4 Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Drizzle biscuits with chocolate syrup; serve warm.

Expert Tips

Try a different fruit—apples, pears, blueberries or blackberries would work.

Serve the biscuits with whipped cream or caramel topping instead of chocolate syrup.

You can use part of a block of cream cheese, cut into cubes, rather than cream cheese spread. Then place 1 or 2 cubes on each biscuit round.
