Ingredients

Steps

  • 1
    Heat oven to 350°F.
  • 2
In medium bowl, crumble cookie dough; stir or knead in flour until well mixed. (DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH AFTER COMBINING WITH FLOUR.) Shape dough into 36 (1-inch) balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased large cookie sheets.
  • 3
Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until edges are set and light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets, and place a caramel in the center of each cookie. Immediately transfer to cooling rack. Cool 15 minutes.
  • 4
While the caramels are still slightly warm, carefully place two candy eyeballs on side of each one. Continue to cool cookies completely.
  • 5
Cool completely before drawing legs on each spider with black writing gel. Store in airtight container.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Try rolling the balls of dough in colored sugar before baking.
  • tip 2
While we like using ROLO® Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate for our spiders, you can substitute mini peanut butter cups in this Spider Cookies recipe, if preferred.
  • tip 3
Candy eyeballs are usually easy to find in most grocery store baking sections—but if you can't find them, you can also use black writing gel to draw eyes onto your completely cooled spider cookies.
  • tip 4
For best results, bake your spooky Spider Cookies on the middle oven rack. For even baking, it’s best to bake one sheet at a time.
