Ingredients

Steps

  • 1
Remove 1 crust from pouch; unfold crust on large cutting board. Cut crust in quarters.
  • 2
In medium bowl, mix apple pie filling and cinnamon. Divide apple mixture evenly in center of pie crust wedges (about 3 tablespoons each).
  • 3
Fold crust in half over filling; press edges firmly with fork to seal. Prick tops with fork to vent. Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar.
  • 4
Set air fryer to 350°F; place two hand pies in air fryer basket, and cook 11 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Let rest 5 minutes without opening air fryer. Using spatula, carefully remove hand pies from air fryer basket. Repeat with remaining hand pies.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
If your apple pie filling has larger pieces, arrange the apple pieces in the same direction in the center of each piece of crust for best results.
  • tip 2
Really make this easy dessert special by serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
  • tip 3
We tested this Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies recipe in a 3.7-quart and a 5.8-quart air fryer. If using a larger air fryer, the hand pies will cook more quickly, so be sure to check them earlier.
  • tip 4
Air fryer temperature control settings vary according to brand and model. If your air fryer does not have the exact temperature setting called for in the recipe, consult your manual for suggested temperature settings. Our recipes do not call for preheating your air fryer. Just set the temperature, and start.
  • tip 5
Allowing the hand pies to rest in the air fryer for 5 minutes after cooking helps get the bottom of the pie crust browner—which also makes the pies easier to remove.
