Smokehouse Chili Cheese Fries
Prep time: 5 min. | Total time: 20 min. | Ingredients: 3 | Serves: 6-8
When you cut down on ingredients for your favorite recipes, ingredients matter. That’s why my favorite shortcut for chili cheese fries starts with Progresso Smokehouse-style Pork and Beef Chili with Beans. It’s rich and hearty –and the bold flavor means I don’t miss out on taste. This un-recipe is as easy as 1-2-3.
- Start by layering 1 bag (almost 2 pounds) of frozen French fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. (Keep clean up a snap by pre-lining with aluminum foil.)
- I like my chili cheese fries really hearty, so I layered the contents of 2 pouches of beef chili on top.
- Then, smother in cheese. I used about 3 cups of shredded Cheddar. You can use whatever cheese you prefer, or maybe even a blend.
Now you’re ready to bake in an oven preheated to 350°F for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the fries are cooked through and golden. You’ve got an excellent snack great for game-day watching, or maybe just Friday night in—just be sure to invite a friend or two.
