Recipe Ingredients

This pie requires only a few simple ingredients for outstanding results! Gather these pantry staples, and dessert will be ready in no time.

Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crusts: It is important to have a good crust to hold the pie’s delicate filling. Each Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crust comes in its own pan, ready to go, and saves you time in the kitchen.

Whipping Cream: Whipping cream creates a delicious, velvety filling for this pie recipe.

Powdered Sugar: Whipped cream on its own collapses easily and can be challenging to work with. Adding powdered sugar when whipping helps create firm, stable peaks for your pie. It also adds a nice sweetness to bring all the flavors together.

Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Fresh fruit. Feel free to customize the fruit to your taste or use what’s currently in season in your area.

How to Make Fruit and Cream Pie

Not only is this pie delicious, it’s simple to make! In just a few easy steps, you can have a homemade dessert that the whole family can enjoy.

1. Prepare the Pie Crust

Bake one Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crust as directed on the package to make a one-crust baked pie shell. Allow to cool completely before proceeding, at least 30 minutes.

2. Whip the Pie Cream Filling

In a large bowl, combine the whipping cream and powdered sugar. Whip together until stiff peaks form and hold their shape.

3. Add Fruit

Gently fold your fruit into the whipped cream and powdered sugar mixture, being careful not to deflate the peaks.

4. Fill and Refrigerate

Spoon the fruit and whipped cream filling into your cooled pie crust. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve cold and enjoy!

How to Store Fruit and Cream Pie

It is important to store your leftovers correctly so that you can enjoy them later!

Refrigerator Storage (recommended)

Store any leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Note, as the pie is stored, it may lose some of the fluffiness, and the fresh fruit texture might change a bit.

Freezer Storage

We do not recommend storing leftovers in the freezer. Doing so may cause leftovers to thaw poorly and compromise the filling texture.
