This quick and easy Italian appetizer is topped with a savory mixture of apple, cheese and pecans.

Ingredients
- 16 slices (1/2 inch thick) baguette French bread
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1 medium Fuji apple, diced
- 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese (2 oz)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- Fresh thyme sprigs, if desired

Step1Heat oven to 400°F. Place bread slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush each bread slice with oil. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Step2Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple; cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened; remove from heat. Stir in cheese, pecans, 2 tablespoons of the honey, 1 teaspoon thyme and the pepper. Spoon apple mixture evenly over bread slices. Drizzle with remaining 2 tablespoons honey.

Step3Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until cheese is melted. Garnish with thyme sprigs.
