Ingredients

  • 1 lb uncooked medium shrimp, peeled, deveined
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 medium green onions, chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill weed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • Fresh chives, if desired
  • Toasted baguette slices, if desired

Instructions

    In 3-quart saucepan, heat 4 cups water to boiling. Add shrimp. Cover and return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 3 to 5 minutes or until shrimp are pink; drain. Cool.

    In food processor, place shrimp. Cover; process, using quick on-and-off motions, until coarsely chopped. Add remaining ingredients except chives and baguette slices. Cover; process until smooth.

    Spoon spread into serving bowl. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Garnish with chives. Serve with baguette slices.
