Bake mixed nuts flavored with pumpkin pie spice to make these tasty snacks – perfect for anytime munching.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 containers (9.5 oz each) mixed nuts with almonds, cashews and pecans

    Heat oven to 300°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking parchment paper. In large bowl, mix sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt; set aside.

    In another large bowl, beat egg whites and water with wire whisk until foamy. Add nuts, stirring until evenly coated. Pour nut mixture into colander; drain well. Add nuts to sugar mixture, stirring until coated. With slotted spoon, remove nuts from sugar mixture, shaking to remove excess sugar. Place nuts in single layer in pan.

    Bake 30 to 35 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack. Break nuts apart. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
