Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta (8 oz)
  • 1/2 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seed, crushed, if desired
  • 2 cups fat-free extra-chunky tomato pasta sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded or shredded mozzarella cheese (2 oz)

    Cook pasta as directed on package. Drain; cover to keep warm.

    Meanwhile, heat 10-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add turkey, garlic, Italian seasoning and fennel; cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until turkey is no longer pink.

    Stir in pasta sauce and sugar. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors. Serve sauce over pasta; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
