Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 bag (10.5 oz) miniature marshmallows (5 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange paste food color
  • 6 cups Cheerios™ cereal
  • 2 tubes (0.68 oz each) black decorating gel
  • 1 tube (0.68 oz) green decorating gel

Steps

  • 1
Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. In 4-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and cook, stirring constantly, until melted. Remove from heat; stir in food color until blended. Stir in Cheerios™.

With damp or lightly greased hands, press mixture in even layer in prepared pan. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Cut with 3-inch pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter.
  • 3
Pipe black decorating gel onto each cereal treat to look like jack-o’-lantern face. Pipe green decorating gel for stem. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Be sure to use plain Cheerios® cereal for these treats; other varieties will be too sweet.
