Gingered Strawberry Shortcakes

- 1 1/2 pints (3 cups) fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons chopped crystallized ginger
- 4 individual sponge shortcake cups
- 1/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions

Step1In medium glass bowl, combine strawberries, sugar and ginger; mix well. Let stand at least 30 minutes to blend flavors, stirring occasionally.

Step2To serve, place shortcakes on individual dessert plates. Spoon berries with juices evenly onto each shortcake. Top each with whipped topping.
