Sometimes called crab rangoons, these Crab-Filled Crescent Wontons are an easy appetizer ready with just 6 ingredients and in 35 minutes. This crab wonton recipe uses flaky Pillsbury™ refrigerated Crescent Rolls, cream cheese, cooked crabmeat, fresh green onion and spicy red pepper. Make the wontons by folding the dough over your crab mixture and tucking the end tightly underneath before rolling it to the opposite corner. These Asian-inspired Crab-Filled Crescent Wontons are a deliciously different appetizer that impresses.

Ingredients

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 375°F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Unroll dough on work surface (if using crescent rolls, pinch seams to seal); cut into 6 rows by 4 rows to make 24 squares.
  • 2
In small bowl, mix cream cheese, crabmeat, onion and red pepper. Spoon about 1 teaspoon crab mixture 1/2 inch from 1 corner of 1 square. Starting with same corner, fold dough over filling, and tuck end tightly underneath filling; continue rolling to within 1/2 inch of opposite corner. Lightly brush exposed corner with egg white. Roll moistened corner of dough over roll; press to seal. Repeat with remaining squares and filling. Place on cookie sheet. Brush with egg white.

Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Ground red pepper, or cayenne pepper, nicely spices these baked crab wontons. Add more, if you like.
  • tip 2
Cans or foil pouches of crabmeat found near the seafood department are usually of better quality and have better flavor than cans in the canned meat and seafood section. However, any cooked crab meat can be used to create these crab crescent rolls.
  • tip 3
Serve wontons with soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce!
