  • 1 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix (from 1-oz package)
  • 1 jar (16 oz) green tomatillo salsa (salsa verde)
  • 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Hot cooked rice

    Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place chicken in slow cooker. Sprinkle taco seasoning over chicken; pour salsa over chicken.

    Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, squeeze lime over chicken. Stir in cilantro.

    Using 2 forks, shred chicken in slow cooker. Stir in sour cream. Serve chicken over rice. Garnish with additional cilantro, if desired.

  • If you need dinner to be done faster, you can use the High heat setting on the slow cooker and cook the chicken for about 4 hours instead.
  • Use the shredded chicken as a burrito or taco filler instead of serving over rice.
