More About This Recipe
  • Just when we thought we couldn’t love our cast-iron skillets any more, we found out they could make us cookies. It’s a simple-yet-impressive way to make a special dessert for the kids or when you want to whip up a dessert for two. We’ve never met a chocolate chip cookie we didn’t like, but when you make a chocolate chip skillet cookie in a cast iron, the cookie gets warm and soft in the center and crispy around the edges resulting in an irresistible treat. Just in case you’re able to resist eating the entire skillet cookie, storing the leftovers is a snap. First, cut your cookie into eight wedges. Enjoy a few bites for yourself and then using an airtight plastic container, place the leftover wedges in one layer, top with waxed paper and then stack the remaining wedges on top of the paper. If you find that you want to make your cookie crispier when you go back for seconds, you can reheat it in the oven at 300°F for 3-5 minutes and cool on a wire rack. We have plenty more cookie tricks where that came from. In fact, did you know you could make Buckeye Bars or cheesecake with your chocolate chip cookie dough? Follow us and prepare to be amazed!
