  • 1
Heat waffle maker; grease generously with oil. Separate dough into 8 biscuits; reserve icing for another use.
  • 2
Place 2 biscuits at a time on hot waffle maker. Close lid of waffle maker; bake 2 to 3 minutes or until light golden brown. Carefully remove waffles. Repeat with remaining biscuits, greasing waffle maker between each set. On cooling rack, cool waffles completely, about 15 minutes.
  • 3
To make sandwiches, with ice cream scoop, add about 1/4 cup ice cream to center of 1 waffle for bottom, and top with another waffle. Roll edges of ice cream in chocolate chips or sprinkles, if desired.
  • 4
Serve immediately, or place in freezer until ready to serve.

Expert Tips

  • Be sure to grease waffle maker between batch of waffles to help prevent biscuits from sticking and burning. Cleanup is a breeze when you wrap a paper towel around the end of a wooden kitchen utensil, like the wooden handle of a spatula. Carefully push paper towel through waffle grates to help clean up any residue from baking.
  • Working quickly ensures the ice cream stays frozen. If you're not enjoying them right away, be sure to place sandwiches in freezer until you're ready to eat. Remove sandwiches from freezer 10 minutes before eating to allow ice cream to soften slightly.
  • Drizzle reserved biscuit icing over sandwiches, and top with more sprinkles, if desired.
