Recipe Ingredients

The easy ingredients are only part of why we love this recipe.

Cooked Sausage Links: You can use your favorite sausage links in this recipe—just be sure they’re fully cooked. Fully cooked breakfast sausage links make this recipe quick and easy. If using uncooked sausage links, precook them following package directions before wrapping with dough and baking. Consider using chicken maple, turkey sausage, or other sausage flavors for a twist.

Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: Crescents create perfectly-flaky breading for this recipe. The dough is also incredibly simple to work with, which makes the recipe a little extra easy.

Maple-Flavored Syrup: This is a traditional breakfast condiment and pulls together the flavors in the recipe. You can also use ketchup or hot sauce for a savory twist.

How to Make Breakfast Crescent Dogs

The process of making this recipe is extremely quick and easy! This is a shortened summary of the process. See the full instructions below when you’re ready to make this recipe!

1. Prep the Dough

Separate the crescent dough into individual triangles.

2. Wrap the Sausages

Wrap one triangle of dough around each sausage link.

3. Bake

Put the wrapped sausages on an ungreased baking sheet with the crescent seam-side down to seal. Bake at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with syrup.

How to Store (and Reheat) Breakfast Crescent Dogs

If you have leftovers, be sure to store and reheat them properly so you can make the most out of your batch!

Refrigerator Storage

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Freezer Storage

We do not recommend freezing leftovers. The crescent dough can lose its flaky texture if it’s frozen and thawed or reheated.

Reheating

  • Oven: Cover leftovers in foil and reheat in a 325°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes until hot.
  • Microwave: Microwave on High for 1 minute, then in 30-second increments after that until heated through and hot.
