Sweet cereal is my kryptonite. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved all different kinds of cereal. I’d beg my mom for all the newest flavors and I’d eat it for breakfast, for snack, and on top of ice cream for dessert.
I’ll never forget the first time I ate Reese’s Puffs Cereal. When I first saw it in the store I just had to have it. I think I ate the whole box in a day or two! As an adult, I realize that eating an entire box of cereal in a day probably isn’t the best idea. So I do what any respectable cereal lover would do: I eat a few bowls and then I make it into a treat.
These no-bake bars are the perfect easy treat. With only five ingredients, they come together in minutes using the microwave. You start with six cups of the cereal. Try not to eat it all before making these!
What holds these bars together is a mixture of butter, marshmallows, peanut butter and chocolate chips. Pretty much the best things in the world, right?
Melt all those together in the microwave, then stir in your cereal. You’ll end up with a big sticky, delicious bowl of this:
Quickly press the bars into your pan. I like to spray my hands with cooking spray so that the bars stay in the pan—not on my hands. Just be careful, the mixture may be hot.
Once they’re level, just chill until set—about 30 minutes or so. Then all you have to do is attack the pan with a fork. Er, that’s what I would do. Maybe you should just cut them into bars instead. They’re easier to share that way!
