Orange Crème Pinwheels

Looking for an easy, no-fuss dessert? Put a creamy citrus twist on classic crescent pinwheels. MORE+ LESS-

Ingredients

oz cream cheese, softened
1/4
cup granulated sugar
1/2
teaspoon orange extract
Grated peel of 1 medium orange
1
can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1
cup powdered sugar
Juice of 1 medium orange (1 to 2 tablespoons)

    Heat oven to 375°F.

    In small bowl, stir together cream cheese, granulated sugar, orange extract and orange peel. Set aside.

    Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. Spread half of cream cheese mixture on each rectangle. Starting at short side, roll up rectangles. With serrated knife, cut each roll into 8 slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, cut sides down.

    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pan; cool completely.

    In small bowl, stir powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth. (If too thin, add more powdered sugar. If too thick, add more juice.) Drizzle over cooled pinwheels.

Expert Tips

  • When cutting into slices, make sure your knife is sharp and you are gentle enough not to smash the dough.
  • Switch it up and use your favorite citrus--lemon or lime would also be delicious!
