Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
- 3/4 teaspoon dried basil or oregano leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Instructions

Step1Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper baking cups. In large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, chives, baking powder, lemon peel, basil and salt; mix well.

Step2Add milk, margarine and egg; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.

Step3Bake at 400°F. for 13 to 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately remove from pans. Serve warm.
