Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or 1 to 2 teaspoons freeze-dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

Steps

    Beat butter in small bowl until light and fluffy. Add chives and lemon peel; blend well. Cover; refrigerate. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.

    HERB BUTTER: Add 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice to butter. ORANGE-WALNUT BUTTER: Add 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts and 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel to butter.
