Ingredients
Bars
- 2 rolls Pillsbury™ refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 bottle (1 oz) red food color
- 1 egg
Frosting
- 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions

Step1Heat oven to 350°F. Let cookie dough stand at room temperature 10 minutes to soften.

Step2In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Add cocoa, food color and egg. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl frequently. Spread in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan.

Step3Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack, about 1 hour.

Step4In 1-quart saucepan, mix flour and milk with whisk until smooth. Cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture is very thick. Remove from heat; cool 10 minutes.

Step5In large bowl, beat sugar and butter with electric mixer on medium speed 1 minute or until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour mixture by tablespoonfuls, beating on high speed until smooth. Beat in vanilla. Frost bars. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
