Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt

Steps

  • 1
In medium bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Store in refrigerator.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Dipping the pieces of chicken or fish first in milk allows the crumbs to form a light coating. For a heavier breading, dip the pieces first in flour, then milk, then coating.
  • tip 2
Keep this seasoning blend on hand to quickly flavor recipes. Combine ingredients and seal mixtures in airtight container. Refrigerate the Italian Parmesan Seasoned mixture.
  • tip 3
Experiment with your favorite seasonings and crumbs. For example, taco seasoning, curry powder or herbs de Provence can be combined with crushed corn flakes, cornmeal, potato flakes or dried bread crumbs.
