Ingredients
- 1/2 cup thick & chunky salsa
- 1/2 cup tomato pasta sauce
- 36 slices cocktail sourdough or rye bread (from 1 lb package)
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 package (6 oz) cracker-cut Cheddar cheese (18 small slices)
Instructions

Step1In small bowl, mix salsa and pasta sauce; set aside.

Step2Set oven control to broil. Lightly spread one side of each bread slice with 1/2 teaspoon butter. On ungreased cookie sheet, place half of bread slices, buttered side down. Top each with a slice of cheese. Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.

Step3Broil 3 to 4 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve sandwiches with salsa mixture.
