Ingredients

  • 4 (3.2-oz.) pkg. all-vegetable protein patties
  • 4 burger buns, split, toasted
  • 1/2 cup purchased guacamole
  • 1 cup fresh alfalfa sprouts
  • 4 slices tomato

Steps

    Prepare patties as directed on package.
  • 2
    Spread cut sides of toasted buns with guacamole. Place patties, alfalfa sprouts and tomato slices in buns.

    One of the flavored mayonnaises can be used in place of the guacamole in these burgers. To maintain the California theme, try chipotle Mayonnaise or Southwestern Mayonnaise.

    Try sourdough buns instead of regular burger buns.

    For deluxe California burgers, add slices of Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce and toasted sunflower seeds to the toppings.
