PBHow to plan a family picnic for Spring_HERO
It’s picnic season! Time to get outside and enjoy that fresh air, vitamin D and family time. Picnics are a fun and budget-friendly way to get together and explore new places. Even if you can’t make it to a park or a field, your backyard works just as well.

Try some of our favorite picnic ideas for a stress-free activity that will leave you with plenty of memories.

What To Bring To a Picnic

  • First, decide on your menu. The best picnic food is easy to eat with your hands, doesn't require a lot of fuss and travels well. Sandwiches, pasta or potato salad and hand-held desserts are all picnic-perfect. Don't forget to bring something to drink! Lemonade makes for a special alfresco thirst quencher.
  • Gather your equipment. You'll want a blanket, plates, napkins, cutlery and something to transport your food if it's a decent walk.
  • Find the right spot. Look for a nice flat area where the ground is dry. If it's hot, head toward the trees for some shade.
  • Bring a game. You can enjoy the outdoors long after the food is gone with a board game or cards.
