Avocados are ready to use when they are black with a hint of green and give slightly when pressed.
You can substitute 1 seeded finely chopped jalapeño chile or 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne) in place of the hot sauce.
Try some of these flavorful additions: Add 2 tablespoons red or white onion, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, 1 clove finely chopped garlic or 1 medium seeded chopped tomato.
