More About This Recipe

  • Thanks to our friends at Betty Crocker, the lemon bar has been a picnic classic since 1963. It is hard to imagine a spring or summer gathering without the bright flavor of lemon bars and this easy recipe brings the classic treat to life in only five steps. Best of all, most of the ingredients can be found in your kitchen already! We recommend using fresh lemon juice for the best flavor so plan on buying two to three lemons for this recipe. In step one, you’ll notice that you only partially bake the crust before adding the lemon curd filling. This is important for getting the right texture for your base, not too soggy and not overbaked. It is also important that you let the bars cool before glazing so your lemony glaze doesn’t simply melt into the bars. Love lemon desserts? Check out these other citrusy options!
