With sweet-tart apples, nutty Swiss, and salty ham, these rolls have all the right flavors in a recipe that’s as fun to make as it is to eat. Using only a few simple ingredients, you can make a crowd-friendly dish that serves as an appetizer, dinner main, or side dish. It’s truly choose your own adventure with these delicious Apple-Glazed Ham and Cheese Rolls! So, roll up your sleeves, roll up your dough, and make something wonderful.

Recipe Ingredients

Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls or Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet: These dough options are easy to work with, making them perfect for creating a nice roll. Either product works wonderfully, but if you use crescent rolls, you will need to press and seal the perforations to keep your roll intact.

Swiss Cheese: Swiss is slightly sweet, nutty, and mild, making it the perfect creamy complement to the other flavors in this dish. It helps the center of your roll stay together as well.

Ham: Sliced, cooked ham is nice and salty, which perfectly complements the slightly sweet cheese and the very sweet apple glaze.

Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Apples provide a lovely texture and subtle sweetness to this dish. Honey mustard adds acidity without being overpowering or too sour, and the honey goes well with the apple components of this dish. Butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple jelly create an ultra-sweet topping that makes this dish unique while remaining approachable and familiar.

How to Make Apple-Glazed Ham and Cheese Rolls

This delicious, comforting dish comes together in just a few easy steps!

1. Prep the Dough

Unroll crescent dough. Separate into 4 rectangles and press into a 6-inch square, pressing the dough perforations to seal them (unless using crescent dough sheet).

2. Add Dough Filling

Spread each square with honey mustard, leaving a 1/4-inch margin around the edges. Top with ham and cheese. Roll up the dough with the ham and cheese inside; press to seal ends and seams.

3. Bake Rolls

Place rolls seam side down on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 16 to 21 minutes or until golden brown.

4. Prepare the Apple Topping

Melt butter in an 8-inch skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add apple and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Add brown sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Stir in jelly and cook for about 2 minutes or until bubbly, stirring occasionally.

5. Top Rolls and Serve

Top rolls with apple mixture and serve.
