Love that soft, cheesy taco wrap you grab at the drive-through, the one with that satisfying crunch? We do, too! That's why we created a crescent ring that pays tribute to those fast-food flavors. This nacho-inspired treat is reminiscent of that quick-stop favorite, packing all the flavors you crave into a golden, flaky crescent ring. Imagine seasoned beef, nacho cheese-style sauce, and a delightful crunch baked into every bite. Top it off with cool sour cream and crisp shredded lettuce for a perfect balance of warm, crunchy, cheesy, and fresh. It’s a flavor-packed treat made simple, thanks to trusty Pillsbury™ crescent rolls!

Recipe Ingredients

Take a look here for everything you’ll need to make this Nacho Crunch Crescent Ring.

Beef: We recommend 85% lean ground beef; it stays juicy and flavorful without feeling greasy. If you use higher-fat beef, drain all but a tablespoon or two before adding taco seasoning.

Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning Mix: Original gives just the right kick, but Mild works great for anyone sensitive to spice.

Tomato: Fresh chopped tomato adds the best flavor, but well-drained canned, diced tomatoes work in a pinch.

Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: You’ll need 2 full cans of Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls to build the crescent ring.

Nacho Cheese Sauce: Nacho cheese gives that familiar fast-food feel. Use any canned or jarred nacho cheese sauce you love.

Old El Paso™ Crunchy Taco Shells: We use taco shells to get that iconic crunch. Stick with classic shells, or mix it up with your favorite flavor.

How to Make Nacho Crunch Crescent Ring

Here’s a look at how to make this Nacho Crunch Crescent Ring. Follow the recipe for full details.

1. Cook Beef

Brown the ground beef, then stir in taco seasoning and tomato. Set aside.

2. Arrange Crescents

Open and unroll both cans of crescents. Separate the triangles and arrange in a sunburst pattern with bases overlapping to form a circle. If needed, place a small (4-inch) bowl upside down in the center. Place triangles around the outer edge of the bowl. When all crescents are placed, remove the bowl.

3. Build Crescent Ring

Mound the crescent base with beef mixture, then top with nacho cheese. Add taco shells over the cheese. Fold the points of the crescent rolls over the filling to enclose it, tucking the ends under the center of the ring.

4. Bake and Serve

Bake until dark brown and baked through. Slice and serve warm with crisp lettuce and a dollop of sour cream.

How to Store (and Reheat) Nacho Crunch Crescent Ring

Leftovers could be scarce, but if you have some, here’s how to store and reheat.

Refrigerator

Cut any leftover crescent ring into individual servings. Cover and store in an airtight food storage container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Freezer

We don’t recommend freezing the crescent ring since the crescents can take on too much moisture and become soggy.

Reheating

To reheat from refrigerated, transfer individual servings to a sheet pan or baking dish, and cover loosely with foil. Heat in a 350°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until heated to at least 165°F in the center (use a food thermometer). Alternatively, transfer individual servings onto microwavable plates. Cover loosely and microwave on medium-high (70%) for about 2 minutes or until steaming.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Step
    1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  • Step
    2

In a 10-inch skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, until cooked through and browned. Add the taco seasoning and tomato; continue cooking for 1 more minute. Set aside until ready to use.

  • Step
    3

Open both packages of crescent rolls, and arrange the triangles in a ring shape on a baking sheet with the base of the triangles overlapping in the center and the points facing outward like a sunburst. The inner circle should be about 4 inches in diameter.

  • Step
    4

Using a slotted spoon, spoon the beef mixture on half of each triangle closest to the center of the ring. Leave any excess liquid in the skillet and discard.

  • Step
    5

Top the beef mixture with the cheese sauce. Break the taco shells in half so there are 6 half-circle pieces. Arrange the shells on top of the beef and cheese, overlapping them slightly, with the flat edge facing towards the inside of the ring.

  • Step
    6

Bring each dough triangle up over the filling and taco shells, tucking dough under the bottom layer of dough to secure it. Repeat around the ring until the entire filling is enclosed. Some filling and taco shells may show a little.

  • Step
    7

Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until the crescent dough is dark golden brown and baked through. Serve immediately with shredded lettuce and sour cream.
