Rhubarb and strawberries, a classic combination, work well in this versatile sauce that can be served warm or cool.

Ingredients

cups sliced fresh or frozen rhubarb

cup sugar

cup water

pint (2 cups) fresh strawberries, sliced

Steps

  • 1 In medium saucepan, combine rhubarb, sugar and water; mix well. Bring toa boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 minutes.
  • 2 Stir in strawberries. Cook 1 minute. Serve warm or cool.
