Ingredients

Twists

  • 2 cans (8-oz each) (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original crescent dough sheet
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice blend
  • 1/2 cup coconut

Glaze

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons milk

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 8 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.
  • 2
Unroll 1 can of the dough on cutting board. Starting at center, press into 12x8-inch rectangle. Spread butter evenly over dough to within 1/4 inch of edges. In small bowl, mix granulated sugar and chai spice; sprinkle over butter. Sprinkle with coconut.
  • 3
Unroll remaining can of dough on work surface. Starting at center, press into 12x8-inch rectangle. Place over filling; firmly press edges to seal. Using sharp serrated knife, cut rectangle lengthwise into 8 (12-inch) strips. Twist each strip 7 to 9 times; shape into tight coil. Place 1 coil in each muffin cup. (Muffin cups will be very full.)
  • 4
Bake 20 to 23 minutes or until no longer doughy in center and golden brown. Immediately remove from muffin cups to cooling rack.
  • 5
Meanwhile, in small bowl stir together powdered sugar and milk until thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle over warm twists. Serve warm.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
For smaller twist muffins, spray 12 regular-size muffin cups. Make dough as directed except cut crosswise into 12 strips. Continue as directed to make 12 muffins.
  • tip 2
Look for chai spice blend in the baking aisle, near the other herbs and seasonings. Or, you can make your own chai spice blend by mixing 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground cardamom, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
