Filling

2: packages (3 oz each) cream cheese, softened

1/3: cup sugar

2: teaspoons grated orange peel

8: drops red food color

8: drops yellow food color

1: egg

Brownies

1: box (19.8 oz) fudge brownie mix

1/2: cup vegetable oil

1/4: cup water

2: eggs

Directions

1 Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening. In small bowl with electric mixer, beat filling ingredients on medium speed until smooth; set aside.
2 In large bowl, stir brownie ingredients with spoon until well blended. Spread half of brownie batter in pan. Spoon filling mixture over brownie batter; gently spread to cover. Top with spoonfuls of remaining brownie batter. To marble, pull knife through batter in wide curves; turn pan and repeat.
3 Bake 26 to 30 minutes or until set. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until set. With hot, wet knife, cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

At other times of the year, omit the orange peel and color the filling for the appropriate holiday, such as red for Christmas or Valentine's Day, or green for St. Patrick's Day.

I made these for a benefit bake sale. I cut out one for a sample. Everyone raved about them. The rest of the brownies "sold" for $10. I did not reveal the recipe so I can make them for the next benefit.

I have made these lots of times for staff birthdays at our school since our school mascot is the tiger. They are moist and a nice change from regular brownies. I never made them for home however
