Slow Cooker Teriyaki-Sesame-Chicken Wraps

cup teriyaki sauce

cup hoisin sauce

flour tortillas (10 inch)

cup shredded carrots

medium bell pepper, cut into bite-size strips

cup sliced green onions (8 medium)
3/4
cup chow mein noodles

  • 1 Spray 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place chicken in cooker. In small bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, gingerroot and garlic; pour over chicken.
  • 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 8 hours.
  • 3 Stir chicken mixture to break apart large pieces of chicken. Stir in sesame seed and sesame oil. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  • 4 Spread 2 teaspoons hoisin sauce on each tortilla. Using slotted spoon, spread about 1/3 cup chicken mixture down center of each tortilla. Top chicken mixture with 1 tablespoon shredded carrot, a few bell pepper strips, 2 teaspoons green onions and 1 tablespoon noodles. Roll up tortilla; cut diagonally in half.

Instead of using the tortillas, wrap the same ingredients in large lettuce leaves.

For an easy Asian salad, toss chicken with mixed greens, green onions, mandarin orange segments and Asian dressing. Top with chow mein noodles.

Made these and slimmed them down with chicken breast instead of thighs, low sodium soy sauce, low fat wraps. They don't give a breakdown here, but I recalculated mine into only 7 G fat, and 280 calories.

These are very good, love the tang and the crunch of the veggies. For those who are upset about sodium, check out low sodium recipes. Not all recipe's are going to cater to your personal tastes.

I tried this recipe for dinner tonight. While we liked the chicken, the crunchy vegetables and noodles seemed out of place to us.

Not sure how many people are watching their sodium intake and/or calories - but holy cow this one is rough. A huge 1,170 mg sodium! Add the 480 calories for 1 and 18 g. fat. Yikes...no thanks. Would love to see this company work more on using herbs and no sodium seasonings...they enhance the flavor without adding sodium...which BTW we get too much of each day with other foods. Do they want customers/cooks using the products or hooked up to machines in ER? Come on Pillsbury help us out here - healthy.
