Expert Tips

Tomato paste is available in tubes and cans. Look for it in the supermarket next to the canned tomato products.

As with most recipes that call for ground beef, you can use ground turkey instead.

This is the third time I made this recipe and I added a small clove of fresh garlic and a little fresh onion to the meat mixture, and a spoonful of grated parmesan cheese to the shredded parmesan cheese. It added the extra flavor I was looking for. I turned out great!

I was very pleased with the recipe and loved the topping. I used the tomato paste with the seasonings and added a little garlic salt to the mix. The consistency was great!

It was a little tasteless. Next time I will probably use seasoned tomato sauce instead of tomato paste.
