cup packed brown sugar

cup granulated sugar

cup butter or margarine, softened

oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped

oz white chocolate baking bars, chopped

cup chopped pecans

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and shortening with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg until well blended. On low speed, beat in flour, baking soda and salt until well blended. Stir in semisweet chocolate, white chocolate and pecans.
  • 2 On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart.
  • 3 Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.

Expert Tips

Omit white chocolate baking bars. Increase semisweet chocolate to 8 ounces. Substitute 1 cup chopped walnuts for the pecans.

delicious, however I would omit the shortening and simply add more butter. Also, if the butter is browned, it adds a rich caramel tone to the cookie.

These are delicious! I got early this morning to make them for my husband's lunch. I enjoyed them for breakfast! Easy and decadant.
