lb ground beef round

1/2 cups finely chopped onions

large cloves garlic, finely chopped
1
small jalapeño chile, seeded, chopped
1
can (6 oz) tomato paste
2
cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes in sauce
3
1/2 cups Progresso™ beef-flavored broth (from 32-oz carton)
1/4 cup Mexican chili powder
1
tablespoon ground cumin
Shredded Cheddar cheese, if desired
Sliced green onions, if desired

    Spray 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In 12-inch skillet, cook half of the beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Remove beef from skillet to slow cooker. Repeat with remaining beef. Add onions, garlic, chile, tomato paste, tomatoes, broth, chili powder and cumin to slow cooker; mix well.

    Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 hours. Garnish individual servings with cheese and green onions.
