EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

*For meatball melts, arrange the sandwiches on a cookie sheet and broil 1 to 2 minutes or until the cheese bubbles.

Garlic-flavored tomato pasta sauce gives these sandwiches a flavor boost, but any sauce works just as well; try meat, mushroom, pepper and onion or garden vegetable.

Serve these hot and hearty sandwiches with crisp carrot sticks, sliced pears and hot apple cider.

This recipe is so easy! We used fresh baked hogie buns from the bakery section at Wal-Mart. They were so good. My husband says my meatball subs are better than Subway's!
