Ingredients

  • 3 (1/2-inch-thick) lengthwise slices whole wheat, rye or white unsliced pullman sandwich bread (from 1 1/2-lb. loaf)
  • 1/2 cup purchased ham spread
  • 1/2 cup purchased chicken spread
  • 1/4 cup sharp Cheddar cold pack cheese food (from 8-oz. container), softened

Garnish Choices

  • Cooked small shrimp
  • Cooked tuna or salmon pieces
  • Hard-cooked egg slices
  • Small broccoli or cauliflower florets
  • Small tomato slices or cherry tomato wedges
  • Green onion fans
  • Roasted bell peppers, cut with decorative cutters
  • Olive slices
  • Small zucchini or cucumber pieces
  • Radish slices
  • Pear or apple slices
  • Strawberry or pineapple slices
  • Grape slices
  • Edible flowers
  • Fresh herb sprigs, such as parsley, basil or rosemary
  • Caviar

Steps

    Spread 1 slice of bread with ham spread, 1 slice with chicken spread and 1 slice with cheese spread. Cut each into 1 1/2-inch squares, diamonds or rectangles. Garnish as desired.
