Maple Nut Ice Cream

Ingredients

cup firmly packed brown sugar

cups milk

eggs, slightly beaten

pint (2 cups) whipping cream

to 3 teaspoons maple flavor

cup chopped nuts
  • 1 In medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, milk and eggs; mix well. Cook over medium heat for about 12 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened and coats a metal spoon, stirring constantly. DO NOT BOIL. Cool 30 minutes.*
  • 2 Add whipping cream and maple flavor; blend well. Stir in nuts. Refrigerate until ready to freeze.
  • 3 When ready to freeze, freeze mixture in ice cream maker according to manufacturer´s directions.
