Easy Cheesy Topped Burgers

Cheese, bacon and ketchup create a tasty change for grilled burgers.

Ingredients

cups shredded Cheddar cheese (10 oz)
1/2
cup chopped packaged precooked bacon (about 8 slices)
1/3
cup mayonnaise

tablespoons ketchup
3
teaspoons red pepper sauce, if desired

frozen ground beef patties (3 lb)
Bread or hamburger buns, if desired
  • 1 Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix all ingredients except patties.
  • 2 When grill is heated, place frozen patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 4 to 8 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.
  • 3 Carefully top each patty with about 1/4 cup cheese mixture; cook covered 4 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on bread.
